In this talk, Duncan Greenman looks at the circumstances leading up to the joining of the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service into the Royal Air Force on 1st April 1918.

Among the topics covered explored are why merge the existing services, what were the RAF actions on the first day and what was the role of ”Bristol” aircraft on the day?
